Miracle Room was an experimental industrial and psychedelic band active from 1986-1992. Begun in Austin, Texas by Steve Marsh (Radarcave, Terminal Mind, Evil Triplet), the group quickly gained a following in the local Noise Rock scene, opening shows for the Butthole Surfers, Scratch Acid, and Snakefinger. They became known for extreme live performances and were voted Best Experimental Group in an early Austin Chronicle Readers Poll. They moved to New York City soon after playing a New Music Seminar at the Knitting Factory in 1988. Miracle Room released a four-song self-titled EP on Bar/None Records, were included on the first volume of Live At The Knitting Factory on A&M Records, and toured in Europe with the Sonny Sharrock Group. A New York Press Best Of issue in 1990 listed them as Best Local Band in New York, and they toured in the US and Canada and performed at festivals in Europe until disbanding in 1992.
